Ex-Texas football star, fiancee ready for wedding

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Just weeks before her wedding to No. 12, Rachel Glandorf, a 6-foot, lean and blonde Baylor University graduate, appears calm and relaxed on a late June afternoon despite her serious to-do list, which includes officially becoming an NFL wife and moving from Austin to Cleveland.
Little did she know that her decision to go to Baylor would lead her into the gaze of a star University of Texas quarterback. He’s Colt McCoy, now a rookie for the Cleveland Browns.
“It’s funny how that worked out,” said Glandorf, dressed in white denim, a ruffled blue top and gold sandals. Continue…

Jackson heads into Game 7 facing uncertain future

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Like a lot of folks, albeit ones making millions less than he does, Phil Jackson rises every morning and swears it’s the last season he’s going to coach the Los Angeles Lakers.
So far, he’s kept coming back for more. Jackson wraps up his 10th year with the team on Thursday night, when the Lakers and Boston Celtics play a deciding Game 7 of the NBA finals.
A victory by the Lakers would help Jackson extend his record to 11 titles.

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Josh Hamilton no longer has a need for Home Run Derby — not during the All-Star break or with impressive pregame batting practice shows.
Oh, he can still hit the ball a long, long way. His 468-foot homer in the Texas Rangers’ last game was the second-longest ever hit at their ballpark.
