what do the numbers next to players names mean?

It means their rating and their peaks. For example (95/97), that player has a 95 rating out of 100 and his peak is 97.

Oh I see.
Well if the peak is listed, does that mean they have already hit their peak or if they are about to hit their peak?
and where can I see the stats for my players?

The peak is the highest rating a player can possibly hit, it doesn't mean they will hit it though.

No it's not, but you can ask Baggino for it, or Jarrod. It'd be better for you to have the program so you can play around with it a bit to figure everything out.

Pretty sure its free. And the peak goes up sometimes depending on the player's potential I believe

Yea open Baseball Mogul and click Resume a previously daved game and load the latest sim file. You can look at all the stats and ratings of your players and how your team is doing. Don't worry I was a noob when I started so it's all good. Just PM me or one of the GM's if you need to ask any more questions.
